Book and Pencil are two 3D scanned clay objects. They have been stripped of their original function and find themselves in a monochrome green landscape in which only geometric piles of blocks are lying around.

Book and Pencil try to relate to their surroundings, each seeking solace from each other in their own way. Pencil does so by constantly starting conversations while Book finds peace in distillation. The conversations, which are initially light-hearted and humorous, express Pencil's longing for connection and recognition, but mostly cause irritation for Book.

The scenes in the green world are interspersed with images of a blue sky with cloud formations, a mix of real and 3D sculpted clouds. Here, the choir reflects on their dialogue in voice-over aloud and gives them further stage directions. These reflections follow the structure of a rite of passage: separation, transformation and reintegration. Besides the blue and green world, they take us to two other places: the house in the night, where the chorus finally gets a body, and the cinema. The latter place is the final stop of the ritual. The act of watching is highlighted as a key moment to resolve the tension between Pencil and Book.
